The results of a 2-year planned analysis of a Phase III trial of tocilizumab in patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have been presented at the American College of Rheumatology annual meeting. Patients with RA who had an inadequate response to methotrexate (MTX) alone were randomised to receive MTX plus tocilizumab (4 mg/kg [n=399] or 8 mg/kg [n=398]) or placebo ( control ; n=393) every four weeks.
